Headlining acts for this event have been previously chosen. There are four additional performance slots. Additional slots will cost each performer or group $100.
"What do I get for paying $100 to perform?"
- Each performance will be videotaped for inclusion in the Starstruck DVD Magazine for October 2010.
- Each artist will receive a DVD of their individual performance for their own private use.
- Each performing artist will be allowed one (1) free guest.
- Each performing artist or group will receive one (1) free copy of the Starstruck DVD Magazine upon completion.
- Artist's performances will be featured on www.rudeboyriddimzent.com for 90 days.
- Starstruck DVD Magazine is distributed locally on the island of Oahu and throughout the state of Hawaii.
"Why do I have to pay to perform? Before we didn't have to do that to get put on at Starstruck."
When Starstruck began in April of 2009, the vision was to provide a venue and an event which would successfully help up and coming HipHop and R'n'B artists in getting their names, faces, and music OUT on Oahu.
The DVD magazine chronicled these groups, the sponsors who supported the event, models, dancers, photographers, and established artists in hiphop, r'n'b, and reggae.
The DVD magazine went on hiatus in September when the founder and editor left the island due to a family emergency on the mainland. Since his return, Shango has sought a new venue to resurrect the Starstruck events, and the DVD magazine.
You have to pay to perform because to produce a DVD it takes money. Paper, DVDs, ink, reproduction after mastering, distribution, ongoing promotion and marketing, takes money. For $100, you are receiving the benefit of having someone else promote you and push your music, not only here locally in Hawaii, but throughout the mainland United States as well.
Mention the name Starstruck DVD Mag in San Francisco, and people will know it. Mention it in San Diego, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and people will know it. Mention it in Virginia and people will know it. That's what you pay for. Someone putting in work to help you get your name, face, and music RECOGNIZED.
